The world celebrates the international Day of Peace on September 21, 2013. It is the goal of Trail of Dreams World Peace Walkers - United Religions Initiative Cooperation Circle in honor of United Nations International Day of Peace to affect the largest most inclusive initiative for peace on the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2013 @ 12 noon in every time zone around the world. Imagine a wave of intentional peace encompassing the world, like a wave gently washing over the planet to raise the consciousness of peace, a wave so strong it literally causes people to put down their weapons and hold the space for a possible future of peaceful coexistence.
Footprints Around the World 4 Peace and the Global March for Peace and Unity have formed a partnership to enhance our capacities to connect with the grassroots citizens of the world to organize a nonviolent world march for peace & unity on the international day of peace September 21, 2013 and create a resounding global call resulting in a collective experience of peace.
Footprints Around the World for Peace honors bioregions by supporting local events and sharing them globally. Through internet broadcasting and social media we will unify our passion for peace. Grow your own fruits and vegetables and support local farmers. Avoid GMO foods.
2. Lesson Your Footprint on Mother Earth - Walk, bike, share rides, and/or use public transportation. Do not idle your engine while waiting for someone - turn the engine off. At home seek alternative energy solutions to power your home such as solar, wind, geothermal and hydro options. Use reusable bags for shopping and for lunch bags. 3. Create Green Home Practices - Adjust your water heater to a lower temp. Keep your thermostat at 68 to 70 degrees year round. Turn water off while rinsing when showering, brushing teeth and washing dishes. Use energy efficient light bulbs and turn lights off when not in the room. Unplug counter top appliances when not in use. Insulate leaky doors and windows. 4. Sustainable Utensils - Use designated drinking bottles, cups, plates, bowls and utensils, rather than plastic coated paper plates and cups. 5. Green Shopping - Shop in second hand stores or thrift shops. Join a free exchange group in your area. Share big ticket items with neighbors. Donate those special items stuffed in closets and storage bins - someone may have a greater need! 6. Recycle and Reuse - Plastic containers, bottles, cans, ink cartridges, electronics, car parts, old equipment ... 7.
